Joanna Borman

Joanna was a Government and English major and she worked on the SNaPP Lab’s Obamacare/Media and Public Opinion Team since Fall 2013.  Over the summer she received a grant from the Charles Center to work on an independent project focused on the relationship between state-level ideology and the use of politically charged terms in local newspaper articles. In her last semester the Obamacare team developed a hand-coding process and used a textual analysis software called LIWC to further their understanding of the newspaper articles we collected over the past year.  Outside of SNaPP,  she was the Scholarship Director of her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta and enjoyed volunteering at the Heritage Humane Society and running through Williamsburg.
